Options in Life
Consultants who do not use brokers are often accused of being nothing more than employees and are no better of than being a simple employee. Because of the requirements of sections 1706 the tax reform act of 1996 , consultants who work through such brokers are frequently forced to work as W-2 employees, rather than independent contractors, though they may well be getting consultant type hourly pay rates as well as working on many projects for many varied clients – over the course of the year and years. But even so , some 19% , ( almost 20 % or one fifth), of the successful consultants report getting frequent work from brokers. Indeed the percentage of consultants using brokers to find work was generally 2 % less than that of the number of those who got work and gainful income through running sales and marketing campaigns.
“Real” or not , brokered consultants tend to stay in “business” , obtaining a living income , on their terms and not someone else’s. You cannot afford to utterly write of a marketing avenue that has brought in this much “business” and income for others who have brokered this work. All that matters in the end , is your cash flow , and what standard of living and options that it brings to you , your family and lifestyle / options in life.
