Computer-Aided Lectures
Description: To reach a large audience in various locations (perhaps scattered all over the globe), many large corporations use computer technology. The students watch their computer screens or share a central video monitor and they can interrupt and ask questions. The audio ad video is transmitted live to each participating classroom. You may not be able to set up such an advanced classroom, but you can use your computer as a teaching aid. Instead of overhead slides or a chalk board, you display your lecture material to the classroom, either on computer monitors (if the class is equipped with a network) or projected on a screen (like an overhead projector). The advantage is that the lecture can include text, graphics, audio, and video as enhancements instead of the traditional chalk on a blackboard. You can work through examples, give exams, and take attendance, all from the computer.
Clientele: Businesses or schools, colleges, and universities wishing to improve their teaching facilities are potential customers. You can either provide them with the plans and technology to set up a computerized classroom or (if they are already equipped) use their facilities to give computer-aided lectures.
