Often the pleasure of seeing their name on a book in print is all the reward the author requires, hence the term vanity publishing.
Clientele: There will be two types of clients in this business: those that are serious about their work and feel it deserves to be published and are willing to foot the bill themselves to see that happen, and those who just want a humorous gift. For the former, advertise in magazines devoted to writing and publishing. You will see that there are already many other businesses offering vanity publishing services, so there is obviously a market for it.
